West Midlands Regional Forum of people with Learning Difficulties

west midlands regional forumSpeakeasy NOW is a member of the West Midlands Regional Forum.

The Forum talks about issues for people with learning difficulties in the West Midlands, what is working and what is not working. It meets 4 times a year in Birmingham.

The Forum elects 2 people to be their Regional representatives at the National Forum.

These Representatives report back to the Regional forum about what the National Forum is doing. They also take issues from the West Midlands back to the National forum.

Speakeasy NOW members are very involved in the Regional Forum. We have had 2 representatives on the National Forum in the past 4 years.

SpeakEasy NOW is responsible for co-ordinating the West Midlands Forum. Ruby Walker is the Administration Worker for the Forum.

The National Forum of people with Learning Difficulties was set up in order to tell the Government what people with learning difficulties think about services, future plans and changes that are being made.

It is run by people with learning difficulties that have been elected from different areas of England. There are 9 Regional Forums in England.
